Jackson Recreation and Parks Department Seeks Community Input for Muse Park Redesign

Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department is preparing to submit an application for Local Parks and Recreation Funds (LPRF) to support Phase 1 of the Muse Park redesign.
The grant application is due in April, with award notifications expected this fall.
Phase 1 proposes a $1,835,692.10 investment focused on revitalizing the core infrastructure of the park.
Key components include:
- Site Reset: Removal of aging ball fields, old tennis courts, and deteriorating restroom facilities.
- New Multi-Purpose Field: Installation of a high-quality field with professional lighting to support soccer and broader community use.
- Accessibility & Amenities Improvements: Construction of nearly 9,000 square feet of new sidewalks, improved ADA-accessible parking, and new spectator shade structures.
As part of the redesign, existing skatepark equipment will be relocated, with plans underway to identify a new location and develop a dedicated skatepark design.
Public input is currently being gathered through community comments to support the grant application process.

An in-person public meeting will take place on March 27, 2026 at Westwood Garden Community Center, where the citizens are encouraged to attend and discuss community parks and recreation. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the City’s intent to submit an application to the State of Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and to solicit input from the citizens regarding recreational needs within the City.
